Terms of service
1. What this service is
Loyaltee is a system that runs loyalty programmes. Businesses configure their own programme here, and their customers get a digital card that keeps track of their stamps, points and tier.
Important, and the source of most misunderstandings: we do not give the rewards — the business you collected at does. We keep the record. How much a point is worth, how long it lasts and what it can be spent on is set by the business in its own programme terms.
2. For members
2.1. Joining
Joining takes an email address or a phone number. You set no password and need none: when you sign in we send a one-time code to the contact details you gave.
The contact details you give must be your own. You may not join on somebody else's behalf.
By registering, you also consent to the business whose programme you are joining informing you about its own news and offers. This is not a condition of membership: you can withdraw the consent at any time, free of charge — reply to the e-mail you received, or tell staff at the counter — and your membership will not end because of it.
2.2. Points and stamps
- A point and a stamp are not money: they cannot be exchanged for cash, transferred, or inherited.
- Your balance is valid at the business where you collected it. It cannot be used at another shop, even one where you are also a member.
- If a purchase is voided or was recorded in error, the credit given for it is taken back as well.
- Points may expire if the business has set them to — its programme terms say so. Stamps never expire.
2.3. Your card
Your card is identified by a secret link. Anyone with that link can redeem in your name at the counter, so treat it like a gift card. If you lose it or it falls into the wrong hands, tell the business and they will issue a new one.
2.4. Leaving
You can leave at any time. Leaving forfeits any collected balance you have not yet redeemed — we say so before you do.
2.5. If a programme ends
A business may end its programme. When it does, the balance you collected there ends with it. Any claim arising from that is against the business; as the keeper of the record we are not liable for the rewards.
3. For businesses
- The subscription is charged monthly and comes with the limits described in the current plan. Fees are invoiced in advance.
- The subscription can be cancelled at any time up to the start of the next period; a period already paid for is not refunded. After cancellation the account falls back to the free plan rather than being closed — members' cards stay valid.
- After a failed payment we suspend the account once a grace period has passed. While suspended no new member can be added, but the counter keeps working and existing members' cards stay live.
- The business is responsible for its own programme terms, for the promises it makes to its customers, and for handling its customers' data lawfully.
- A marketing message may only be sent to a member who has consented to it — by default this happens at registration, and the member can withdraw it at any time. The system checks this at the moment of sending and skips recipients without consent.
4. What is not allowed
- joining with somebody else's details or with false contact details;
- obtaining points or stamps without a real purchase, or recording such a thing;
- loading the system with automated tools or circumventing its limits;
- obtaining or using another member's card link.
We may suspend a membership or an account for breaching these.
5. Availability and faults
We run the service with all the care we can, but cannot guarantee continuous, fault-free operation. It may be temporarily unavailable because of maintenance, an outage, or a third-party provider failing.
If a balance is accounted for incorrectly, we correct it. The correction is a separate adjusting entry in the record: we do not rewrite earlier lines, so what happened and when stays visible afterwards.
6. Changes to these terms
We may amend these terms. We will notify you of a material change at the contact details on your account, and the change takes effect after that notice. A business may amend its own programme terms — we record the text you accepted when you joined, so it stays clear afterwards which version you agreed to.
7. Governing law
Hungarian law governs this contract. As a consumer you may turn to the conciliation board for your place of residence, and you may also use the online dispute resolution platform.
8. About your data
What we store, why and for how long is described in a separate document. Privacy notice
