Wallet, e-mail or SMS: how a message gets through
The order of the channels, what they cost, and what happens when the SMS allowance runs out.
In the campaign's “Channel” setting, “Whichever is available” is the cheapest: the system tries a Wallet notification first, then e-mail, and only texts members it cannot reach any other way.
-
Wallet notification
For members who saved the card to Google Wallet. Free; Google allows three a day per card, and a fourth lands on the card silently.
-
Email
Free, and every e-mail carries the opt-out link at its foot.
-
SMS
Comes out of the plan's monthly allowance. A single ő or ű makes an SMS hold only 70 characters instead of 160.
If you choose a channel explicitly, the system only tries that one. If the SMS allowance runs out, the SMS is not sent, and that does not count as a failure.
With “Send no message”, only the credit happens, without a message.
